Trainee Workshop Assistant

Jack Oldcorn

Jack is a performer, musician, sound designer and technician based in Edinburgh.

Having graduated from UEA’s BA Drama programme in 2021 with First Class honors Jack moved north to Edinburgh to begin working professionally in education, Theatre and Music.

Recently Jack has been working alongside International artists as a technician at Edinburgh International festival. As well as this Jack has also been working Technician in this year’s fringe festival. Designing and operating for artists from North America.

Jack is also a student at the University of Edinburgh studying as a part of their MSc Sound Design program. Having composed scores for short films in the past and written and produced his own audio plays he hopes the course will push him further into the world of sonic art and help him to establish a career in the field.

Jack splits his time between working in arts and education. Having worked in multiple roles across High School and Higher Education he works with young people who have additional support needs. Currently he is working as a Youth Engagement Officer for Volunteering Matters.

He writes, records, mixes and masters his own music which is currently unreleased. When asked if he would ever release it, he said “Maybe.”
